Pro-Life Fantasy

Reading the news concerning the future legislative agenda of National Right to Life Committee during their annual convention this year in Charlotte, North Carolina, one cannot help but conclude that NRLC is living in a fantasy world. Their pronounced intent to "chip away at it" using legitimate political means at the behest of the Republican Party, attempting to enact various pieces of legal fantasy, marks a continuing "legislative agenda" spanning three decades, fraudulently calling itself "pro-life" at the staggering expense of millions of innocent lives.

Starting in the 1970s, this fatally flawed legislative agenda drew imaginary lines at no abortions "except" in the cases of rape, incest or the life of the mother. Along the way there was the Hyde Amendment, the foreign aid Mexico City Policy, parental notification or parental consent regulations, 24-hour waiting regulations, informed consent regulations; and more recently we've seen late-term partial-birth abortion regulations. Now they're embarking upon stem-cell regulations, and RU-486 abortion pill regulations are being contemplated that potentially will carry them "chipping away at it" well into the middle of the 21st century.

The law simply says, thou shalt not murder. It does not say, thou shalt regulate murder.

Nevertheless, this nation has seen three decades -- 30 years -- of striving over genocidal regulations that prescribe how, when, where, on whom, by whom, or with whose permission murder may be carried out. What is there to show for this longest running, most utterly failed legislative strategy in modern American politics?

Nothing! Absolutely nothing.

Time and again it has been pointed out that each one of these legislative initiatives is being fraudulently labeled "pro-life," and not only does nothing happen to those perpetrating this fraud, these non-profit groups are often rewarded with more donations pouring into their coffers, and the lawmakers are re-elected to office.

Since the 1970s the two basic characteristics of "pro-life" involvement in American politics are fraud and fantasy.

When man forsakes God, fantasy replaces reality. Genesis 6:5 says, "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

Notice where it says "imagination." This is humanistic, apostate thought of fallen man and for that reason is "fantasy" because it begins with man rather than God.

When man attempts to govern apart from God, man will enact fantasy law. Man governing by the power of his own hand is the root of sin. The prophet Isaiah tells us that what caused the angel Lucifer, the devil, to be kicked out of heaven (Eze. 28:17) was him saying in his heart, "I will exalt my throne ... I will be like the most High." (Isa. 14:12-14)

Proclaiming independence to have the power to make laws apart from the Most High is rebellion and witchcraft, and is fantasy law. The prophet Samuel said to Saul, "Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD... For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the Word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king." (1 Sam. 15:19-23)

The Word of the LORD states you shall not murder. But a people who says, you shall regulate murder, rejects His Word. They place themselves first, above God. They exalt their own throne. In a fantasy world of false imaginations they stubbornly refuse to repent and obey His Word. They play god which is the practice of idolatry. They act on the belief that humanistic, apostate thought can succeed.

Christians must stop being indifferent and ignorant and take a stand against these promoters of false imaginations which have bound our nation in fantasy and fraud, and led to 30 years of death. Christians must lay the ax to the root of this tree "which bringeth not forth good fruit."

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." (2 Cor. 10:4-6)

Our weapons are not based on the false imaginations of humanistic, apostate thought. Our weapons are based on the power of the Almighty and Sovereign God! Our weapon is the Spirit-empowered Word of God, that tears down the "strong holds" of the mind and destroys the world of fantasy. Again, Christians must stop being indifferent. To stand in faith requires the "casting down" of every false imagination and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. The only real world is God's world, which is the only possible way to life.

God's Word is absolute: you shall not murder.
