When you hear of a nation being called "the most barbaric of nations," which nation comes to mind? A far-away idol-worshiping third world nation? No. Our streets are now that mission field. For a college-educated, well-mannered, nicely dressed, and articulate lady can worship idols and be as far from God as a village mother in the jungle, dressed in a grass skirt, naked from the waist up with a bone through her nose.
The village mother will have her newborn child thrown into the sacrificial fire so she can advance in the tribal hierarchy. The unwed American mother will enter an abortion clinic and have her child ripped to pieces from her womb so she can climb the corporate ladder.
There is no doubt! Such fornication and murder are Sodom-like sins and must merit Sodom-like judgment, and judgment begins first at the house of God. "This was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom," says Ezekiel 16:49, "pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness." Ever notice how that description fits most of the Church in America today?
Recently a minister who runs a food distribution ministry told me that there are over 3,000 Christian churches in the Washington, D.C. area. You would think in a city with over 3,000 churches God would be receiving the glory in all areas of social and political life.
Ever see a news report about what goes on in our nation's capitol? Washington, D.C., is one of the most effeminized, sodomized, blood-soaked cities the world has ever seen. It is a city where the civil officials allow sodomites to roam freely! And women murder more children by abortion than give birth! Such Sodom-like sin points directly to the American Church's willingness to passively coexist in the midst of such damnable crimes.
The Bible says in Jude 7, "Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."
Have you heard of civil officials giving Domestic Partner Benefits to civil employees because they are fornicators and sodomites? To just approve of fornication, and sodomy brings God's righteous judgment of death upon yourself, much less for the state to employ these criminals and then substantiate them with taxpayer benefits!
Have you heard of Same-Sex Unions? Marriage-like rights to sodomites? Despite the fact that the Bible commands all husbands to love their wives "even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it," the men in Vermont allowed their lawmakers to change the law making a sodomite equal to a man's wife in that state. There are news reports now that the men in seven other states are considering degrading their wives with the same type of law!
Woe unto men that make their wives and daughters equal to cankered sodomites in the eyes of the law! Such an egregious degradation and debasement will not stand in the Day of Judgment!
A church that hates people will show the world how to live without the knowledge of the judgment of God. They do this by having pleasure in passively and silently coexisting with unrepentant people who are committing damnable crimes. For, "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them," says Romans 1:32. It is one of the worst of all sins; it is the highest degree of wickedness for this lost and dying world to see a church standing with the devil approving of evil.
When the lost and dying people of our nation look at your church what do they see? User-friendly passivity? A church that's been turned into a Spiritual Aerobic Center and the pastor into a nursemaid? Instead of the Good News, does your pastor preach nice news?
The Good News is good news because there is bad news: we have sinned, and deserve, and face judgment. But Christ died for us because God loved us. And God now calls us all to repent. (Acts 17:30-31)
If your pastor is not publicly calling the city, state, and federal officials and judges to repentance by administering justice concerning these damnable crimes, then your pastor is showing the world how to live without the knowledge of the judgment of God, instead of following the example given to us by Jesus.
For Jesus "upbraid" the cities that He had called to repentance "because they repented not!" He said, "it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, in the day of judgment, than for thee." (Matt. 11:24) A change of direction in society will not happen until the Church repents by changing its direction first. "Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." (Eph. 5:10-11) The Good News proclaims both the mercy and the justice of God to a lost and dying world.
