Ford Receives $5.9 Billion Government Aid To Retool Plants, Save Jobs
Journal NewspapersFord Motor Co. just got a little more help in the plan to retool the Michigan Truck Plant. U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu made it official on Tuesday morning: the automaker is one of several companies to receive low-interest loans from the federal government to transform plants into modern facilities that will churn out more fuel efficient vehicles. Ford will receive about $5.9 billion in loans that will help them refurbish 11 plants in five states, including the Michigan Assembly Plant in the City of Wayne.
