Thursday: 123 Iraqis, 3 US Contractors Killed; 191 Iraqis Wounded

Although the fighting continues in Basra, followers of Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr in Baghdad instead took to the streets in mostly peaceful protests. At least 123 Iraqis were killed or found dead and 191 more were wounded in various incidents across Iraq. The numbers include a mass grave that was found in Muqdadiyah.
