Bank of Israel to Buy US Dollars

Bank of Israel officials announced Thursday that they would be purchasing United States dollars over the next two years, beginning next week. Israel will purchase $25 million a day for a total of $10 billion, they said. News of the planned purchase caused the dollar to strengthen by 1.86 percent. The dollar closed at 3.443 NIS.
