Anti-Woman Position Is To Be
FOR Females In Our Armed Forces

To: National Desk

PASADENA, Md., March 03 /Covenant News Wire Service/ -- During my Presidential campaign last year, the one issue, above all issues, that angered most people was my unqualified insistence that there should be no women in our Armed Forces --- none, in any capacity. This unyielding position of mine was seen by some as evidence of my being "anti-woman," against "equality" for women, etc.

I remember vividly speaking at Archbishop Spalding High School which is not far from my office in Pasadena, Maryland. After my making my position clear on women-in-the-military, I saw the face of one of the mothers there. She was, obviously, in vehement disagreement with me. She vigorously shook her head side-to-side. Her contorted face unmistakably conveyed her rage at what I had said. Her daughter, more calmly, told me she, too, disagreed with me. She said she had been accepted to West Point. I said something about wishing her well. I can't remember exactly what I said.

I tell you all this because these memories came back to me when I read a sickening story in a recent issue of "Time" magazine (2/21/05). The story was headlined "Impure Tactics." But, "impure" doesn't begin to accurately describe what this report tells us.

This story is about a prisoner held at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay who was believed to have taken flying lessons in Arizona before 9/11, just like one of the hijackers. During his interrogation, a female Army interrogator, when he would say nothing, took a break and stepped into the hall. As "Time" reports it: "When [she] returned, the interrogator shed the top of her camouflage battle-dress uniform, revealing a tight Army T shirt. The prisoner looked away. She rubbed her breasts against his back, taunting him about his [being aroused]. She stood in front of him touching her breasts. He spit in her face.

"During another break, the interrogator said she wanted to shame the devout Muslim captive in order to break his connection with God, which was giving him the strength to stonewall. After asking advice from a different translator, this one a Muslim, she went into the bathroom, taking a red marker with her. When she and the first translator re-entered the interrogation booth, she told the detainee [that it was that time of the month for her.] She stuck her hands in her pants, then withdrew a hand and showed the detainee what appeared to be blood on it.

"She asked again who had sent him to Arizona, and he glared at her silently. When she wiped the red ink on his face, he let out a shout, spit at her and lunged forward so forcefully that an ankle came loose from its shackle. The Saudi began sobbing uncontrollably, and the interrogator left, telling him the water in his cell had been shut off. He would not be able to wash, as Muslims are supposed to do before they pray.

"Sexually loaded torment by female interrogators is the latest chapter in the prisoner-abuse scandals that will not fade away."

"Time" says: "The military has acknowledged that two female interrogators were reprimanded in 2003 for improper, sexually tinged behavior at Guantanamo. In one case, an interrogator took off her uniform top, revealing a T shirt underneath, sat in a detainee's lap and ran her fingers through his hair. A supervisor monitoring the session immediately stopped it and gave the woman a written rebuke. Another female interrogator received a verbal warning after she wiped red dye on a detainee's shirt, saying it was blood."

I apologize for some of the descriptions here. They are gross and brutal. But, I wanted to convey to you --- with some degree of specificity --- some of what's happening to some of the women in our Armed Forces, something you may not know about.

As I read this disgusting story, I wondered: who, exactly, are these female interrogators? Well, they are not named. But, for sure, it's a good bet that they are somebody's wife, daughter, or sister.

I repeat something I have said before: There should be no women in our Armed Forces, period! --- none, in any capacity. I say this so categorically because if women are allowed to be in our Armed Forces, they will, inevitably, inescapably --- in our anti-Christian culture --- be abused, raped, and sexually exploited as was the case with this female interrogator at Guantanamo.

I hope and pray you agree with me on this issue. If you do, write, please, to your U.S. Congressman and two U.S. Senators. Tell them what you think. I would be grateful if you would send me a copy of their reply.

For God, Family and the Republic,

Michael A. Peroutka
