Ron Paul on Meet the Press with Tim Russert, Dec. 23, 2007

After the death of Tim Russert last week, it made me go back and rewatch Dr. Paul's interview on the Meet the Press. Wow, it was brilliant. Russert took Dr. Paul to task on all things that countered establishment thought and Dr. Paul handled himself masterfully. I even caught myself laughing at the logic, simplicity, and sincerity of his answers.

George Stephanopoulos said he sometimes spent days prepping candidates for Meet the Press. Dr. Paul, on the other hand, told me once, “I’ve been preparing for 30 years. If I don’t know the philosophy by now, a few hours of prepping isn’t going to help me.” It’s not the conventional approach, nor something I would recommend to future Ron Paul Republicans, but it seemed to work for Dr. Paul on Meet the Press.
