Christian Exodus Targets Idaho

For Immediate Release:

LETHA, Idaho -- Christian Exodus, an organization of Christian political activists seeking to reestablish constitutionally limited government, is encouraging migration to Gem County, Idaho. They believe that America has largely departed from its Christian heritage, and its duty to govern itself according to Biblical principles. They intend to implement reform through planned migration, local community living, and the interposition of local elected officials, who in obedience to their oaths of office would intentionally disregard unjust and unconstitutional government directives on behalf of their constituents.

Paul Smith, who was an Idaho Constitution Party candidate for Congress in 2006, is helping to coordinate the effort. He said, "We must strive to establish God's rule in our lives through local government, by assembling together in true Christian fellowship in small communities. It is critical that we take back our lives now and bow our knee only to King Jesus."

Mr. Pro-Life (formerly known as Marvin Richardson), who ran as an Idaho Constitution Party candidate for governor in 2006, is offering to help newcomers settle near his home in Letha, Idaho. In defense of his actions, he said, "Would you rather have a liberal, sexually perverse family move to your state and vote, or a conservative Christian family that would vote to stop unborn baby murder, adultery, and homosexuality?"

When asked for comment on Christian Exodus, Glenn Ferrell, pastor of Sovereign Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Boise, replied, "There is history of God's people, beginning with Abraham and continuing through the Pilgrims, relocating in order to more faithfully worship God and advance His kingdom in church and the civil realm. Their concern for God's glory did not stop with family, church and work, but extended to the body politic as well."

Christian Exodus (ChristianExodus.org) was founded in 2003 by Cory Burnell, a financial advisor from east Texas. The original target location for planned migration was only to South Carolina, but being emboldened by increasing numbers of liberty activists nationwide (as evidenced by the successes of the Ron Paul Revolution) the group has expanded their scope to encourage migration to multiple locations simultaneously.
