Home Protests Cause Planned Parenthood Construction Workers to Quit

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Colorado Families Against Planned Parenthood

DENVER, CO -- Colorado Families Against Planned Parenthood revealed today that five unique subcontractors have quit participation in the construction site slated to become the largest abortion clinic in the nation.

"Five subcontractors have either quit or refused to participate in the project," stated Danielle Duffy of Colorado Families Against Planned Parenthood. "Some quit after news coverage of the home vigil was aired. Each of them revealed to our source that they were not told it was going to be a Planned Parenthood – from the permits, they concluded that they were working on a Fuller Office Building or a United Airlines Call Center."

The Weitz Company agreed to meet with Colorado Families Against Planned Parenthood at the outset of the project, and insisted that they had been upfront with every subcontractor they had hired. The Weitz Company Vice President Gary Meggison was quoted in the Rocky Mountain News, affirming that The Weitz Company had informed the subcontractors about the controversial nature of the project. Planned Parenthood representatives also touted their honesty with all companies involved.

Inside sources revealed to Colorado Families Against Planned Parenthood that The Weitz Company and Planned Parenthood are not revealing the true nature of the construction project to subcontractors. The source confirmed that Rocky Mountain Mechanical Systems, Haynes Mechanical Systems, Denver Security Services, Lucht's Concrete Pumping and Western States Fire Protection will no longer be working on the abortion facility.

Colorado Families Against Planned Parenthood was told of bizarre rules at the job site – including a prohibition on contractors and employees conversing or looking at each other. CFAPP also learned that several construction workers walked off of the troubled job site upon learning the nature of the facility.

"The home vigils are revealing The Weitz Company's duplicity to everyone involved," concluded Danielle. "We are ensuring that each subcontractor knows that he is not just working on a regular construction site, but on a facility that will kill hundreds of thousands of children if construction continues. These businesses – and the public - deserve to know the truth."
