LIFE SUPPORT mourns the passing of Paul deParrie

CLACKAMAS, OR -- LIFE SUPPORT mourns the loss of Paul deParrie - fearless servant of the LORD, dedicated pro-life warrior, trusted friend. Paul entered into eternity on May 20, 2006 AD. He was 56. For information about assistance to his wife Bonnie, and for funeral arrangements, see below.

Paul deParrie was the Executive Director of Believers Against Child Killing, a columnist for NewsWithViews and the author of numerous, compelling books.

Paul had devoted his life to defending those among us who are least able to fend for themselves. Appropriately, his last words spoken in public were delivered during a fiery oration to those attending the nominating convention of the Constitution Party of Oregon. In a style unique only to Paul, he zealously exhorted them to stand firm - to never compromise on even one abortion.

In what would best be described as an act of divine providence, Paul ended his speech with an emotional, passionate declaration; “The only thing that matters to me is doing my job to stop the killing of the unborn!” Within minutes of speaking, Paul suffered a massive heart attack. Efforts to revive him were to no avail. Paul fought the good fight right up until his very last breath, and passed away surrounded by those who loved and admired him.

David Brownlow, LIFE SUPPORT Executive Director, said, “Paul deParrie was a formidable force, and a tireless champion for the unborn. He ‘ran with endurance the race that was set before him.’ Now it is finished. His passing has left us with a pair of pro-life shoes that will be very hard to fill. I consider it an honor to have been his friend.”

Lon Mabon, LIFE SUPPORT Political Director, said, "I am fortunate to have known Paul deParrie for the past 20 years. He has served as an example and inspiration to me, even as I faced my own trials and tribulations in the state of Oregon. If some people did not understand or appreciate Paul, it was because he was willing to do and say far more than they were. He would not compromise, but at every point along the path he would state the truth. A prophet to our culture like Paul is not received well on this earth, but I am absolutely convinced that his reward in Heaven is great. If half the people who sit in pews did half of what Paul did, there would be no abortion, pornography or homosexual agenda in this nation. That's a fact! And although I am convinced that Paul is better off, I personally will miss him greatly."

Jim Leuenberger, LIFE SUPPORT Legal Counsel, said, “Paul was a warrior for God during his life on earth. A true Christian soldier. In the ten plus years I have known and worked with Paul, I have never seen him waiver in his devotion to our Lord, the unborn, and the defenseless. He has always been a friend in times of need. He has also been willing to call me on my inconsistencies and my weaknesses. He was brave enough to tell even his friends when they were wrong. We will miss him. But, I have no doubt he is receiving his heavenly reward for his valiant life.”

Bob Ekstrom, LIFE SUPPORT Field Director, said. “Hail The Warrior. Know this. The Genghis Khans, Julius Caesars, Napoleons, and General MacArthurs of this world never returned to the hero’s welcome that Paul deParrie is now experiencing as he enters Heavens gates and is greeted by the Slaughtered Innocents he faithfully represented on this earth. I can only imagine the loving embrace that God and Heaven extend to men such as Paul.”

Suzanne Brownlow, LIFE SUPPORT Communications Director, said, “Paul was a John the Baptist – rough around the edges, but honest and courageous. He didn’t mince words to the wicked about their need to repent. But, Paul was a gentle, amicable man whose mischievous smile won your heart.”

From all of us at LIFE SUPPORT, “We are going to miss you, Paul. See you on the other side.”
