'Images That Shake The Soul'
What Do Missionaries To The Preborn
And Abu Ghraib Have In Common?
Answer: Photographs which shock, disturb, and foment questions
To: National Desk
WASHINGTON, D.C. June 18 /Covenant News Wire Service/ -- After the prisoner abuse story at Abu Ghraib broke last year with photographs which stunned the nation, USA Today ran a front page story on May 10, 2004, entitled “Images that shake the soul.” The story was about how photographs have impacted people and “changed history” over the last 150 years. They point out how “brutal photos have shattered innocence.” The story went on to say among other things, “The power of pictures is unlike any other.” “These images shock, they disturb, and they foment questions.” “Photos have permanence. They sear an image in your mind.”
And so they do. Since Missionaries to the Preborn has been using the bloody photographs out on the streets of Wisconsin for nearly a decade and a half, the number of abortions committed in Wisconsin has dropped over 46%. Meanwhile, in Michigan where the photographs have rarely been displayed, the number of abortions has risen by the thousands during the last four years.
Missionaries to the Preborn will be conducting THE AMERICAN ATROCITIES TOUR from June 13th – 24th, 2005, a two-state, 17-city, campaign being held in Michigan and Wisconsin wherein they will, once again, display the photographs of the murdered preborn at busy intersections.
The display will include photographs from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters, as the killing of the preborn is legal in all three trimesters here in America. If anyone doubts the veracity of our photographs, they can go to a public library, pull out a medical textbook on fetal development, and see for themselves exactly what a preborn child in the womb looks like.
“Since the State-legal killing of the preborn is public policy in America, it is only right that their suffering be publicly displayed on America’s streets.”
-Pastor Matt Trewhella, founder of Missionaries to the Preborn
Missionaries to the Preborn is a Christian Mission which was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1990. Since the Mission began, five of the eight abortion clinics in Milwaukee have closed down and the number of abortions committed in Wisconsin each year has dropped by over 46%. They have conducted similar tours in over 450 cities and towns in 31 states and 3 foreign countries.
