Christ is the Answer

People are trying to make sense out of the senseless indiscriminate shooting of Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords, nine year old Christina Taylor Green, and several others. They are blaming it on the availability of handguns to people who are "mentally deranged."
I do not believe Jared Loughner is mentally deranged; I believe he is spiritually deranged, he was taught to reject God's authority from the time he was born. He has embraced Evil instead.
There are three things which prevent us from wrong doing: The fear of the Lord, punishment of man, and a good working conscience.
Statecraft is no substituted for soulcraft. The state, media, and even our churches have undermined moral restraint. If one believes in God at all it is usually a god made into our image after our likeness rather than the other way around. It is a god that accepts rather than rejects our sin. This is no god to fear! We have become a nation of biblically ignorant people spoon fed false doctrine and revisionist history. We worship ourselves and live for ourselves, we lead selfish lives.
Many like Loughner despise God's authority and Secular Humanism the religion of the state. They are only kept in line only by fear of being caught and punished. Loughner does not respect the law, nor did he fear punishment. Many are crying for tougher gun laws, more draconian legislation, and harsher punishments to prevent further episodes. This will only create further resentment of government by ordinary citizens. This increases these sort incidents rather than reduces them. Airport security, courthouse scans, and random vehicle check points have done little to make us more secure. Increasing security increases security abuse, which increases distrust, and resentment. America has more people incarcerated per capita than any nation in the world. This is an increasingly expensive and useless solution.
The pulpits of our nation once distinguished right from wrong. Every course which was taught in school wove into it a biblical world view, a moral perspective on how History, Geography, English, Mathematics, and a variety of other disciplines and arts might be rightly or wrongly used or applied. An entire village could be policed by a single constable. Armed citizens could be deputized to back him up.
Jared Loughner is among millions who have been miseducated in our god-less school systems. Increasing legal restraints on behavior problems is no balm for the soul. Government cannot play the role of the church. It does not even recognize the existence of the soul of man, how can it cure it?
Jesus Christ is the answer, the only answer. If America does not return to its religious mooring, if government is not reigned in, if pastors do not stand in the gap, then America is doomed! We will spiral into a totalitarian society and end up on the ash heap of history. Whatever nation conquers us will likewise be doomed unless Jesus Christ is embraced. For this principle applies to all times and places the world around.
