The 'Parental Consent' exception

“No exceptions” should mean no abortion

Letter to the Editor of Covenant News,

Iowa Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Vander Plaats would require teenage rape and incest victims to get parental consent before having an abortion. “I’m pro-life without exception” says Vander Plaats.

Vander Plaats has an exception for abortion: Parental consent.

Parental consent, fetal pain awareness, 24 hour waiting periods, informed consent, is PRO-CHOICE legislation touted by Right to Life and their ilk. “No exceptions” should mean no abortion.

We do not kill people conceived from rape or incest after they are born, we should not kill them before they are born with or without “parental consent”.
