Plan Your Work, Work Your Plan
By Buddy Hanson The Covenant News ~ December 14, 2009
How's your plan progressing for carrying out God's will? If your response is that you don't have a specific plan, or that your plan is a little on the fuzzy side, you would do well to consider what your non-Christian neighbors are up to. In case you haven't noticed, there is nothing fuzzy, or half-hearted about their plans.
Brainwashing our children by teaching them in their public (government) schools to depend upon civil government services and programs instead of relying upon their personal initiative and self-government. In other words, to make them dumbed-down wards of the state.
Redeeming our personal liberty by taking more and more of our tax dollars to pay for the various social programs that we and our churches should be funding.
Confiscating our property under the sham of eminent domain if they can sell it to someone else to generate more tax revenues.
Convincing us to segregate "religion" and "real life" into two unrelated mental compartments, thereby making our ethics culturally irrelevant and, in essence, encouraging us to barricade them inside our homes and churches while they accomplish their politically correct cultural agenda.
Maintaining an "open border" policy to allow illegal immigrants to flood into our country, then providing them with social services in an effort to build a voting base to keep non-Christian legislators in office.
Establishing a national religious ethic (Political Correctness, or more accurately Cultural Marxism) that makes it heretical to incorporate Christian ethics into the cultural discussion and/or one's lifestyle.
Ignoring the capitalist concepts in state and federal constitutions (which reflect America's collective Christian worldview at the time in which they were written), and promoting socialism (which reflects today's collective non-Christian worldview).
Non-Christians have been "going through their progressions" of
completely de-Christianizing American culture for more than a century
and a half, meeting little if any opposition on the part of
Christians. It should be no surprise that they have made great
progress. In the face of such a well-thought out and passionately
pursued plan, it can be quite intimidating to think that legislators,
judges, homemakers, policemen, or anyone else can stop the downward
spiral of our culture, much less restore it to where it is governed
according to biblical ethics. Yet, that is exactly what we have been
called into Christ's Kingdom to do.
Just because the vast majority of Christians have been negligent in living-out a specific plan to redeem our culture, doesn't mean that such a plan doesn't exist. It most certainly does and it is revealed on the inspired pages of the Bible. In addition, just because non-Christians are having their way, doesn't mean that they are thwarting the eternally perfect plans of our triune God. To the contrary, God's plans are exactly on schedule as they always have been and always will be.
When Jesus created the earth, He created an orderly existence. Our
actions cause consequences. The success of the plans of non-Christians
is proof of that. They are implementing their plans, and we are doing
practically nothing to oppose them, so the results we are receiving
are ungodly and chaotic (since we are offering no godly alternatives).
Just as God has tested cultures in the past, rewarding those who
repent and follow His rules, and cursing (and even destroying) those
who persisted in following man's rules, so is He doing with America.
Our calling includes replacing the chaos that results from
man-centered civil government with the orderliness that results from a
God-centered civil government. Even though the task looks
overwhelming, that's only because we are looking at it from our
perspective. But before we throw up our hands in frustration, we
should get a glimpse of the earth from God's perspective. This is His
creation, and sure, non-Christians have made great progress, but
they've done everything without God. Think what we can do with Him!
Besides, we're in the obedience business, and He is in the results
business, so we shouldn't worry about how improbable something may
appear, but rather do what we know is right, and let Him take care of
the results.
