UA Student Is Suing Oro Valley Police Over Use of Taser Outside Football Game

A University of Arizona student is suing the Oro Valley Police Department on claims of reckless assault and detention as he headed to a football game last fall. John Wisner's suit, filed Aug. 11 in Pima County Superior Court, states that he was detained and shot with a Taser by Oro Valley police Officer Bryan Wiggins, which caused him "to fall face-first onto a concrete sidewalk." At the time of the Oct. 25 incident, Wiggins was off-duty from his Oro Valley job and working in uniform for the university.
