Rally Scorns Socialized Medicine

The rowdy demonstrations and most of the crowd were missing this time, but round two of this year's Sioux Falls tea party protests still filled the air Thursday with urgent warnings against federal control of health care. "It puts bean-counting bureaucrats in charge of whether you live or die," public health nurse Twila Brase told her audience in the grandstand at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Brase, president of the Citizens Council on Health Care in St. Paul, warned against a movement toward electronic medical records, then led the audience in a threefold chant of "No socialized medicine!"
