'Tea Party' Protest Encoring At Capitol

It will be "tea time" again in Lansing on Independence Day. Local grass-roots organizers are hosting the Lansing Independence Day Tea Party on Saturday at the state Capitol in a bid to bemoan "ever-expanding" federal government and to assert state rights. It will be one of hundreds of tea parties expected nationwide as the U.S. celebrates its birthday. The local tea party will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
