Video Surveillance System in Schools with Federal Grant
Decatur City Council members will likely approve funding for a $358,500 video surveillance system at five city schools. A federal grant will fund half the expense, and the city will split the balance 60-40 with the school system. A majority of the council said it approves funding the purchase, which will give school administrators and police real-time access through the Internet to cameras at both high schools and Cedar Ridge, Brookhaven and Oak Park middle schools.
