The political and financial support Mr. Bush and his Big Tent Republican Party are receiving from the director and leading star of the pornographic Kick Ass Pictures operation would be hilarious if not so inherently tragic. James Dobson, Ralph Reed, and the rest of the leading lights of the Christian Right suffering from a fatal attraction to Mr. Bush and the Republican National Committee are probably up late tonight, trying to concoct the latest spin that will be proferred to their unsuspecting sheep. How many more times these purveyors of Republican Revival in America will be able to sell Mr. Bush's snake oil is a matter of intense speculation. Only time will tell.
After all, this is a Rockefeller Republican who has sold his faithful on
1) record budget and trade deficits;
2) a preemptive war in Iraq on faulty intelligence that has killed 100,000 Iraqis while costing the United States $200 billion and 1,700 lives [and counting];
3) the outsourcing of another 2.5 million American manufacturing jobs;
4) a USA Patriot Act which has turned the nation into a burgeoning domestic police-state;
5) the ongoing support of Planned Parenthood with federal money;
6) the acceptance of the homosexual rights lobby within the Republican Party;
7) the increasing of federal subsidies for the Department of Education and the National Endowment for the Arts;
8) an open-borders/illegal immigration amnesty policy which further threatens the nation's security, economy, and culture; and
9) what is obviously preliminary preparation for a preemptive military attack on Iran and Syria at the behest of Ariel Sharon and the American Israeli Political Action Committee (AIPAC). This will, of course, lead to
10) a re-institution of military conscription in America to support not only Sharon's agenda in the Middle East; but the development of an American janissary force to occupy oil and natural gas laden Central Asia--while attempting to counter Communist Chinese initiatives in Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia.
It is all reminiscent of the British Empire--and its Babylonian and Roman predecessors in history.
To repristinate The Bush Record: Pornography money in the Republican Party; the continuance of taxpayer-subsidized abortion; record levels of debt; a declining dollar; the destruction of the manufacturing sector of the American economy; increased Federal involvement in education and culture; record-level 3rd world immigration to the United States; and a foreign policy rooted in Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace for Sharon and the energy consortiums. Is this what the American Right has come to stand for, as long as a Republican President and Congress are the ones promoting the policies?
I have come to miss Mr. Clinton and Miss Lewinsky.
