From time to time, Daddy shares questions from his children, along with
his answers. Here's one asked one night, by little Debbie, after her prayers
were said...
Reclaiming Freedom
Daddy, one of my teachers told us that some people in other countries
have often lost their freedom.
Where did it go? If they find it, can they get it back?
Daddy's answer:
Deb, it can help us to understand what freedom is, and where it goes if
it gets lost, if we refer to the First Law of Thermodynamics, which states
that nothing in the universe is now being created or destroyed. Energy can
be converted to other forms of energy, and matter can rather easily be
coverted to energy -- but only with great difficulty and often cost, can such
energy be transformed back into matter.
Thus it is with Freedom. In God's economy, in what He left us after the
Fall, in part of what we call "Free Will", we have a great but not infinate
amount of Freedom. When we lose it, it is always due to it being converted
into somebody else's power. We may give it up willingly, be tricked out of
it, or have it taken by force -- the result is always the same. It will be
very difficult to get back any freedom so converted -- it may even take the
spilling of blood -- sometimes a lot of it.
Nighty Night!
