National Victims
Dear Daddy:
I guess you are gloating all over the place since the Supreme Court
upheld the actions of the Boy Scouts in continuing to keep gays out of
leadership positions. Enjoy it while you can---we are winning in every
arena--this little setback will soon be forgotten.
Star-Gays-er
Dear Star:
You got me all wrong on this one -- the way the Scout battle was couched
and the skillful way our Court took advantage of it proved that this was
truly just another tiny skirmish. The Supreme Court in my lifetime reminds
me of Pro Wrestling. On the surface it almost looks like something big could
be happening....but it is just a setup for the next show, er, "match."
What can we expect out of "battles" waged by lawyers? They first and
foremost work for themselves and the furtherance of their "profession."
The Boy Scout ruling--what do I find disappointing about it?
1). Still no definition of what in the world a "gay" person is. You want to
know what a "homosexual" is, in today's America? I will tell you, and it
won't require an X rating---one of these folks is simply a member of some
amorphous class of people who are victims. That's all. National Victims. Of
misunderstanding, discrimination--even "hate."
"We are not, as we must not be, guided by our views of whether the Boy
Scout's teachings with respect to homosexual conduct are right or wrong," the
court said (italics Daddy's).
Mercy no, Daddy would respond, it just wouldn't do to have any Supreme
Court decision based on whether anything was "right or wrong." The notion of
God and His awful absolutes might creep in then...
When was the last time you read of a person committing a crime as a
homosexual? They are under complete media cover when acting criminally.
When they do horrible sexual things to little boys, they do so as "predators"
or "molesters" or "pedophiles" or something. Never as homosexuals. No, when
they are in that guise, they are only capable of being victimized. Nice,
huh?
All it would take is about 6 months of telling America just what
distinguishing acts qualify one as being "gay," and the legal aid party
would be over for these perverts.
2) The court said that forcing the Scouts to accept openly gay troop leaders
would violate the organization's "rights of free expression and free
association."
Let me tell you, this is just the Court's way of getting off the
hook--getting rid of the pesky little Uranian problem of the moment, while
doing nothing of substance.
Think their lofty appeal to organizational rights of "free expression and
association" will stand if applied to any of a thousand other groups or
"classes"? Baloney. Test it yourself. Think the Scouts could use this
argument to keep out Hispanics, Muslims or Seventh Day Adventists?
No, this was just one more temporary ducking of a major issue by our
political Courtesans, using the Constitutional clause they love the
most---call it the "Escape Clause." Give out some wimpy ruling and get out
of town for the year.
Daddy
Next week, Daddy will comment on a question about the Court's ruling
allowing "partial-birth abortions" and he will show how this really is not
the tragedy for pro-lifers that many think it is--in fact, just the opposite.
