The Fourth Year Itch Cynical? Afraid So
By Al Cronkrite The Covenant News ~ April 21, 2008
Hillary, John, and Barak have the airwaves buzzing with comments on their run for the Presidency.
Alas, it is a sordid affair; I am revolted and unable to generate interest. Three seemingly intelligent individuals, mysteriously ordained as candidates, should find something better to do than manipulate the unwashed into voting for their phony images. Hundreds of thousands of words are spoken, bushels of lies are told, and significant impressions are created that bear no resemblance to actions that will follow.
The whole affair is equally contrived and morally equivalent to a professional wrestling match. But the wrestlers in this match intend on applying muscle to the entire world while the professional variety are confined to the ring and surrounding floor. It is a charade where serious veracity is needed.
To make matters worse, Ron Paul, the best candidate available during my voting years, was scorned by the press and ignored by Christians. He is not perfect but his honesty and obedience set him high above the successful sycophants that continue to inhabit the Oval Office.
Because they often willingly follow injurious policies, United States citizens are sometimes referred to as “sheeple”. The political class is an even dumber herd. Governments bent on exerting inordinate control over their subjects often use false flag operations but the intelligent nincompoops in our government ignored that reality and, lacking that famous Spanish ingredient, cojones, they never confronted it. Nine/eleven was a most fortuitous event that should have been challenged at the outset. Instead our congressional puppets allowed the War in Iraq to proceed, and now the entire malignant charade is accepted without the slightest reference to its possible illegitimate beginnings.
Here in Florida we recently hung up on computerized telephone calls (yes, there was more than one) from our congressional representative. I have attended town meetings conducted by this congressman and his answers are vague, the questioners are manipulated, and the questions are controlled with switching and evasion. This is a man who has been in congress for 18 years. He championed term limits but did not abide by them. His voting record fails to consider the Constitution; he has supported the United Nations, voted for CAFTA, and supports the War in Iraq. He is popular, considered conservative, entrenched with the support of Republican machinery, has a million dollar campaign pot, and is running unopposed.
The two-party system is an abomination. Loyalty to party rather than principle distorts righteousness, brings a degrading pragmatism into play, and creates an alien competition that vies with sound judgment. It was flawed from the beginning.
Though most of the men who set the stage for the government of the United States mouthed Christianity their failure to understand God’s governmental structure provided a clue to the nature of their Christian education. John Adams and his wife Abigail were Unitarian, non-Trinitarian Deists while Thomas Jefferson, whom they attacked as being a Deist, wrote his own bible scorning the Old Testament in favor of the New. Both of these men were antinomian heretics who used Christianity as an instrument of political manipulation.
Alexander Hamilton, who was Secretary of the Treasury during the Washington Administration, was a staunch Federalist and, although the two were not friendly, so was Vice-President John Adams. Hamilton worked to form a coalition of bankers and businessmen who favored a strong government and a national banking system. Thomas Jefferson, an anti-Federalist (later Democrat-Republican), got strong support from the South and from artisans and farmers. He and John Adams vied to be the second president of the United States. Adams prevailed with Jefferson assuming the role of Vice-President.
President George Washington was a Federalist. He completed his two term presidency unopposed. In the second national election Jefferson won over John Adams and the two-party system was set into place. It was intrinsic in the formation of the new nation and has continued through our history. The interests of business, banking, and government created a natural coalition and since their interests were often inimical to the interests of the small businessmen, farmers, and laborers, a natural and permanent division was created. Divergent perspectives cause conflicting intentions and without a singular overarching righteousness result in injurious compromises. (It is important to understand that the two-party system is still in place today and is as injurious as it ever was. Now, however, it is being used by a hidden coalition to initiate world domination. This conspiracy includes both political parties and remains in place regardless of which one is elected.)
We tend to idolize our Founders and our history but unfortunately the formation of a national government under the newly written Constitution was a raucous procedure that involved character assassination, name calling, and lies that were as bad, or worse, than those that still accompany our elections.
In spite of all its false pride, United States has always been a house divided. The mixture of fractured Christianity and enlightenment that characterized its beginning planted the seeds for the current treason and the forces that supported the two-party system lent their considerable power to self-interest rather than the good of the nation. There was no single national truth and no single set of legal standards. Our Constitution provides for freedom of religion. Since freedom of religion involves the worship of other gods it creates a national violation of the first Commandment. As a result, the religion of humanism has proved to be more powerful than Christianity. Christians have acceded to secular government by participating in the process and failing to present the viable Christian alternative. They have engaged themselves in a conflicted, futile fight to get heathen to act like Christians while living under a humanistic legal system and are beginning to suffer serious results from their failures.
The latest fad is a Ben Stein movie entitled “Expelled”. I have not seen the movie but its content involves the debate between believers in Darwin’s theory of evolution and believers in intelligent design. It will provide entertainment for a myriad of conservatives and Christians who agree with Ben Stein but it will do nothing to move Christianity ahead in the culture. Ben Stein is not a Christian and Christians who support him are giving heed to a foreign god. Supporting the Constitution and fighting niche causes like abortion, homosexuality, public education, gun control, etc. are laudable by themselves but they distract for the change needed to restore righteousness and order. Even if the debate could be won decisively, teaching intelligent design, being only an intellectual victory, would not affect God’s dominion.
Our jails are bursting at the seams while our police departments set up sting operations to entrap sex addicts who have become addicted to the vices the same courts that now send them to jail formerly made legal. For decades we have been engaged in a phony War on Drugs that, like the War on Terror, is an unwinnable aberration that drains our wealth without benefit. It is no wonder our jails are full and our courts often punish the innocent and allow the guilty to go fee. Justice is not their intent. Policemen and prosecutors use the legal system of a false god and the unlimited resources of the state to prevail over our citizens and to fill our jails with a greater percentage of our population that any other nation including totalitarian nations like China and Russia. Justice waits on the proper content of the legal system!
If a nation wishes to be Christian it must make God’s Laws the centerpiece of the culture. Our secular courts are concerned with law, not justice. Human laws cannot and will not provide justice. The only source of immutable justice is the Law God gave to Moses. Peripheral issues are distractions. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is a jealous God. Competing religions are abominations that are intolerant of the One True God.
When I sit down in the pew of a Christian church and hear a representative of the Most High God begin to preach a sermon that does not confront the chaotic sinfulness in every corner of our culture, I am flabbergasted at the blindness of our clergy.
Randy Hill, an internet friend, recently sent this:
“Perilous Times, Troubled People”
“We are living in Perilous Times. We are constantly dealing with Satan's "Ds"; deception, dissatisfaction, distress, drunkenness, discomfort, divorce, discouragement, disease, despair, drug abuse, discord, disdain, disgust, dissension, doubt, disobedience, and the doctrines of demons.
We are Troubled People. We are problem-laden consumers who can choose from a vast variety of products, books, seminars, conferences, self-help groups, professional counselors, psychologists, televangelists, radio preachers, gurus, celebrities, and even angels to help us solve the problems of living in these Perilous Times.
We are Prosperous and Perishing at the same time. People are perishing because of "love"- - love. One has to move one self, first, we are told by the many "Voices" proclaiming the "truth" of this New Age. One has to love ones-self, before they can love "God" or other people. Love your self. Esteem your self. Honor your self.
Notice what comes from people becoming, "lovers of their own selves." These people who are "lovers of themselves" are "covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God" (2 Timothy 3:2-4)
Prosperity has made many people dull and hard of hearing. Jeremiah 22:21, "I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, 'I will not hear."
Troubled People with ears that do not hear and eyes that do not see are everywhere. They are no longer isolated incidents but an epidemic of global proportions. Everywhere you go; street corners, shopping malls, sport arenas, schools, and churches - you will find those who have chosen of their own volition not to hear the Voice of the Eternal Father.
People Trust the "voices" of religious leaders, celebrities, and psychologists to guide them through these Perilous and Prosperous Times. But so many people turn off their hearing when it comes to hearing the words of warning from the Watchmen of Today.
They hear the Voice, but the words trouble them. The words are not what they want to hear, for they are not words of health and wealth, of possibility and prosperity, of easy living with everyone getting along. Any words of tribulation, trial, trouble, hardship and heartache are not listened to.
‘Did you ever see a portrait of a great man without perceiving (some) traits of pain and anxiety?’ - John Adams
I don't know if anyone actually reads any of the e-mail warnings that I send out. I don't know if anyone really takes the time to read the articles that I link people to, or refer them to. I don't know if the few that may read the e-mail warnings and articles pass them on to other people. Maybe, everyone that I e-mail, just hits the delete button. But, I do know that I have to try and that I cannot stop trying to help People living in these Perilous Times.
When Noah built the Ark, he also preached to the people around him. He warned them of God's coming judgment. Sadly, no one had ears to hear what Noah said.”
Well said, Randy Hill!
I would add that many of the citizens of the United States are filled with a prideful arrogance that makes them willing to support the wholesale slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians in foreign lands. God’s judgment comes with quick severity to the willful murder of His created images.
Much of the responsibility for the disastrous government we now live under must be placed at the feet of the electorate. We have allowed the growth of this secular monster by voting pragmatically, without discernment, for individuals whose agendas are evil. We have voted for these individuals and often re-elected them to successive terms. Christians continue to act as if God’s creation is limited to the interior of their church, failing to understand the necessity of using God’s legal standards to govern all of His creation. Until a majority of Christians come to realize the necessity of God’s Law in the administration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ it will be impossible to restore righteousness!
We have been distracted by expository preaching that fails to link God’s Word with contemporary wickedness and with the humanistic musings of church politicians who mimic the “conniving, disingenuous” members of our government by holding their fingers to the wind seeking to build mega-churches with their own popularity.
Hillary, John, and Barak are enemies of Our Lord Jesus. Their policies are derived from an alien religion. Christians who support them defy the mandates of The One True God.
“Also I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them again and again, saying: ‘Turn now every man from his evil way, and amend your deeds, and do not go after other gods to worship them, then you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers; but you have not inclined your ear or listened to Me’.” Jeremiah 35:15
