Luring Henry Why did he vote for & support Bush?
By Al Cronkrite The Covenant News ~ September 27, 2005
Henry Lamb has provided studious coverage of the chicanery of the United Nations for a number of years. He has been a speaker at conservative meetings and has written regular columns for WorldNetDaily. His warnings about the pernicious nature of the UN's intentions are well founded and he always backs them with facts. He was and is a man that I greatly admire.
A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Henry at a meeting here in Florida.
Henry belongs to a large group of Christian leaders who supported the candidacy and now the government of George W. Bush. This group includes many of America's Protestant Christian elitists: James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Joe Farah of WorldNetDaily, D. James Kennedy, Pat Robertson, Gary Bauer, and Phyllis Schlafly are but a few.
Recently, I sent Henry Lamb an email expressing my disappointment. It was meant to be a private email but Henry chose to publish it along with his response.
I was deeply disappointed when you were brainwashed into supporting a man who has done more harm to America than any single individual, including Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The tenets of a just war are entirely missing in our conquest of Iraq. Other than the heresy of Dispensationalism, what other basis is there, for supporting our invasion of Iraq? America's presence in Iraq will put it in the same position Israel has enjoyed for the last sixty years. Without the genocide of 200 million Arabs, there will be no peace. Are you calling for the genocide of 200 million Arabs?
Al Cronkrite
Al - I was deeply disappointed to see that you were brainwashed into thinking our President has done more harm to America than any single individual. Your conclusion about the war ignores a ton of facts, and your declaration that peace requires the genocide of 200 million Arabs is a gross hyperbole. But isn't it great that you can think - and say - whatever you like, as can I? We can both try to persuade our readers that our point of view is correct. In the end, facts and reason will prevail.
Henry Lamb
Now, I will admit to a measure of hyperbole but not "gross hyperbole". Arabs are no more pleased to have American bases on their land than they are to have the alien Nation of Israel in their midst. Though some may finally accept Democracy at the point of a gun, they will not do so with the willingness that produces lasting peace.
As to the "ton of facts", I would return the "gross hyperbole" description. If there is a "ton of facts", I would be pleased if Henry would give us even a few pounds.
Yes, I am delighted that we still have the right of free speech but concerned that the Bush Administration may soon allow the restriction of this Constitutional right along with those they have already usurped. On September 14th legislation was passed by our congress that if applied would seriously deter not only freedom of speech but the preaching of Christianity as well. This single bit of legislation alone could cause unprecedented harm to the nation by squelching the voice and the pen of Christians who oppose Dispensationalism and creating additional groups of privileged Americans.
Dispensationalist Christians believe that current events center around the fate of the Nation of Israel. WorldNetDaily subscribes to this theory. Recently this site offered a book by Bill Koenig entitled "Eye to Eye" which attempts to create a simile between dire events and American attempts to mollify the Palestinians. Koenig notes that "nine of the ten costliest insurance events in U.S. history, six of the seven costliest hurricanes in U.S. history, three of the four largest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history, nine of the top ten natural disasters in U.S. history, ranked by FEMA relief costs, and the two largest terrorism events in U.S. history" all happened on the day or within twenty four hours of either Bush or Clinton tinkering with the right of Israel to the land they occupy.
Mr. Koenig is correct; America has been getting a double dose of destructive events. The unprecedented Hurricane damage to Florida in 2004 followed this year by the catastrophic Katrina and now Rita is cause for great concern. However, a more orthodox analysis might discern different and more serious reasons for the drawing of God's wrath.
Neither America nor Israel's leaders has a modicum of concern about the Will of God. Israel is almost entirely secular. It ignores the Laws God gave to Moses and would most likely crucify The Savior were He to come again today. America claims to be 70% Christian. Most who claim the mantle of The Savior seek His blessings but not His mandates and vote to support the heathen candidates of both major political parties. This, my fellow Americans, Jews and Gentiles, is pervasive sin subject to God's judgment of both leaders and followers.
It is a spurious idea that human efforts can reverse God's judgment. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob seeks an obedient people. The Diaspora was a result of disobedience and it will not be rescinded while disobedience prevails. In God's Kingdom, the means justifies the end and human efforts to reverse that maxim will always result in the same division and turmoil that have accompanied both the War in Iraq and efforts to re-establish Israel.
Dispensational theology is not the only basis for concern about the Bush Administration. More money has been spent, more freedom has been lost, and more government has been added than at any time in our history.
In a previous essay I wrote about Dr. Walter Brasch in his book entitled "America's Unpatriotic Acts" pointing to six Articles of the Bill of Rights that are threatened by the Bush supported Patriots Act. These are the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, and 14th. That is a massive loss of freedom and a lot of law breaking with few if any terrorists apprehended as a result.
In the same essay I wrote, "Like his father before him, President Bush II has been a government expander rather than a government shrinker. His budget requests have been the largest in American history. In 2001, he requested nearly $2 trillion; currently these unthinkable figures have gone up by 50% to well over $3 trillion. He has failed to rescind the worst of the spate of Executive Orders executed by his predecessor lending a tacit support for many of President Clinton's initiatives."
Some Christians have complained that President Bush II has prayed with Muslims and Shinto worshipers. One source quotes from a church speech "Miracles happen as a result of the love of the Almighty, professed, by the way, taught, by the way, by religions from all walks of life whether it be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu." Even some of his ardent supporters have become wary. Secularists, the world government crowd in particular, disdain exclusivity in religion. In this regard President Bush's acceptance of every and all religious faiths and his willingness to become a part of their worshipful procedures lends massive support to a new inclusive world religious system.
The list of aberrant programs President Bush supports is extensive. As a supporter of world government he seeks amnesty for millions of illegal aliens; he has done nothing to stop the outsourcing of American jobs and the loss of entire industries, instead in a treasonous lack, he allows China to continue to use the profits gained from American markets to grow in power and become a danger to American citizens; he has hired homosexuals in key positions and supported the gay agenda in his administration; he has supported pro-abortion candidates and done nothing to stop the murder of innocents; our troops remain under foreign command; and his record supporting the Second Amendment and the right of our citizens to defend themselves is suspect. Unfortunately, there are others not mentioned here.
Regardless of the spin and some troops who return with favorable stories, the War in Iraq is a disaster. Bill Lind, an expert on war and strategy, writes:
"Fourth Generation war pit's a state, or alliance of states, against a shifting mass of opponents of wildly varying motives and goals. Among the problems that presents is that the state has no one to talk to about making peace. Who does Mr. Kissinger sit down with in Paris this time?
Nor does Fourth Generation war have as its objective the mind of the leader on the other side. Rather, what it does is pull its enemy apart on the moral level, fracturing his society. We see that clearly today in Israel, where the fractures may soon reach the point where the political process cannot bridge them. The Soviet Union's defeat in Afghanistan played a central role in the collapse of the Soviet state. Could the American defeat in Iraq have similar consequences here? The chance is far greater than Washington elites can imagine."
Can Henry Lamb produce the "ton of facts" and supply reasons other than pagan Hegelian pragmatism why George W. Bush was a better candidate than Michael Peroutka? He maintains "facts and reason" will prevail. These are the facts and from them I reason that George W. Bush has done more harm to America than any previous President. I wish it were not so and would welcome sound reasons to change my mind.
I am afraid God's wrath will become more intense as Israel and America continue by secular means to establish what God has destroyed.
