Pope Benedict XVI
Commentary By Albert Mohler
What Should We Think?
Evangelicals rightly point to the papacy as an unbiblical office that, by its very nature, compromises the integrity of Scripture and invests an unbiblical authority in an earthly ecclesiastical monarch. Claims of papal succession, papal authority, and papal infallibility do nothing but widen the breach between evangelicals and the Roman Catholic Church. The conservatism that leads Ratzinger to defend historic Catholic positions on abortion, euthanasia, and a host of other issues go hand-in-hand with his defense of the papacy, magisterial authority, and the evolving body of Catholic doctrine.

The Destructive Generation
Politics
Why the Nation is a Mess
Where were the Christians during the tumultuous decade of the 1960s? What answers were they offering? A debate was raging over whether Christians should say anything. As far back as 1947 Carl Henry, in a flash of prophetic insight, wrote that “unless we experience a rebirth of apostolic passion, Fundamentalism in two generations will be reduced either to a tolerated cult status or, in the event of Roman Catholic domination in the United States, become once again a despised and oppressed sect.” There is no doubt that Henry’s timing was off. Christianity has entered the second generation as “a despised and oppressed sect.” At the conclusion of this generation we may find ourselves to be a persecuted religious minority. The frustrating thing is that millions of Christians will glory in the status.

According to Family Research Council head Tony Perkins, the filibuster is being wielded by God-hating liberals as a weapon against "people of faith."

The Word of God is absolutely adequate for everything pertaining to our spiritual walk with God. A lawsuit by a couple who claim Planned Parenthood didn't notify them before giving their 14-year-old daughter an abortion has prompted an investigation by the prosecutor's office. 'Doctor Control' Laws
Commentary by Chuck Baldwin
Let's Hear It For 'Doctor Control'
There are 700,000 physicians in the U.S. that cause 120,000 accidental deaths each year. Accidental death per physician is 0.171 percent. There are 80 million gun owners in the U.S. responsible for 1,500 accidental gun deaths per year for a percentage of accidental deaths per gun owner of 0.0000188. Doctors are 9,000 times more dangerous to the public health than gun owners. With such statistics, one would think that there would be an avalanche of politicians and social commentators clamoring for "doctor control."

Men Who Risk It All

We read in Philippians 2:30 that Epaphroditus “risked his life” for the sake of the Gospel. It’s clear that Paul wanted the church at Philippi to understand that here was a man of unquestionable worth, a man worthy of their greatest esteem. The Greek word suggests that he even daringly exposed himself to danger. He was willing to take enormous risks in order to help someone else – in this case, the apostle Paul.

Federal judges on Wednesday urged Congress to provide more protection, including $12 million for security systems in most of their homes. Gonzales: A Grave Threat

FBI Wants To Obtain Records Without A Warrant
U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and FBI Director Robert Mueller Tuesday urged Congress to renew controversial parts of an antiterrorism law that expire this year because America was still threatened by terrorists. Gonzales said the Justice Department had been granted approval for a section 215 search warrant 35 times as of March 30, 2005. The warrants were used to obtain driver's license records, apartment leasing records, credit card records and subscriber information. Mueller also called for an expanded ability for the FBI to obtain certain types of records without first asking a judge.
Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
