Bush buying Catholic votes
Pro-Life News
Since President Bush has been in office he has allowed federal employees to be covered by federal insurance plans that include non-health related services such as contraceptives, abortion, sterilization and artificial insemination which some Catholic hospitals do not offer. Instead of stopping federal tax dollars being spent for abortion-related services at hospitals across the country, the Bush administration will include Catholic hospitals at the 'federal hog trough' by offering federal employees a special insurance plan through
Bush's "faith-based initiative." The $1 billion tax funded project will exclude payment for abortion-related services ONLY at Catholic hospitals. The special coverage, which will begin enrolling federal workers in 31 Illinois counties in November, is sponsored by OSF Health, a unit of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, which runs the St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria and five Roman Catholic hospitals in Illinois and Michigan (two battle ground states).

The Trial of Eric Rudolph
Eric Robert Rudolph wants a federal judge to block any evidence investigators seized from a North Carolina mobile home and storage shed because he contends the search warrants weren't specific. Rudolph's lawyers argued in court papers made available to the public Tuesday that any items seized not be used at trial because the warrants were too general and violate the Fourth Amendment which protects people from unreasonable search and seizure.
