House Passes Birth-Control Bill
Pro-Life News
The House of Representatives approved a bill that could "smooth the way" to over-the-counter use of the Plan B morning after pill. Lawmakers passed a measure barring the FDA from keeping any birth-control off the over-the-counter market once the agency has found it to be safe and effective. (Under the Bush administration "safe and effective" does not apply to the health and protection of unborn children). While the bill does not specifically mention the "morning after pill," supporters were quick to point to the
abortifacent as their motivation for pushing the vote.

Nurses Quitting Over Morning-After Pill
Pro-Life News
Nurses in Alabama are quitting their jobs rather than administer a heavy dose of birth control drugs known as the "morning-after pill." The nurses say the drug is taken by women after sexual intercourse to chemically induce abortions. Abortion people admit the morning-after pill prohibits an embryo (the earliest form of human life) from implantation, which denies the nutrition necessary to survive.

Dobson Timidity Deplored
Politics
One of the reasons President Bush has been able to sell-out so easily on so many issues of concern to conservatives is that some Christian/conservative "leaders" have excused his actions rather than honestly and forcefully criticizing them. On Fox TV’s "Hannity & Colmes" show recently, Dr. Dobson, founder of "Focus On The Family," was asked if he was disturbed that Pataki, Giuiliani and Schwarzenegger were being allowed to be in the spotlight at the GOP Convention? Well, not really, said Dr. Dobson, because we don’t yet know the entire lineup of speakers. Besides, he added, the President will be speaking and "he’s a conservative." He adds a little later that Mr. Bush "is one of the most conservative presidents we’ve ever had."

Kopp Challenging FACE Act
Pro-Life News
The federal government should drop its prosecution of James Kopp since he is already likely to spend the rest of his life in prison, according to his attorney John Humann. A federal trial would violate the U.S. Constitution's double jeopardy clause, which protects people from being tried twice for the same offense. Humann is also challenging the constitutionality of the federal law under which Kopp is charged. Kopp is charged in federal court with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, known as FACE.
