Evangelist Chuck Spingola had a "burn permit" for 1:30 as the parade was scheduled to pass. The duralogs were lit, [a]nd a few rainbow flags were torched as decadent paraders passed by. Then two sodomites swinging from a rope were burned in effigy. It was a glorious representation of the fires of hell.

Bush Backs Condoms
Pro-Life News
President George W. Bush has said for the first time that the United States should endorsed the use of condoms to prevent the spread of AIDS, an important issue among conservative groups who have fought Bush over the adoption of a "U.S. Condom Policy." Pro-sodomite Republicans have complained that Bush has been too slow to embrace "effective methods" of preventing the sodomite-spread disease. "Once again we see President Bush supporting the homosexual agenda substantially while paying lip service to conservatives over family values," a Washington activist observed.

When injections supposed to end their lives in the womb fail, some babies are placed in dishes and left in side rooms, the Daily Mail reports. Most of the cases involve terminations at around 23 weeks, when babies have a chance of survival with ventilation and special care.

The Texas Abortion Tango
Politics
Larry Flynt, the publisher of Hustler magazine, set his sights on the biggest prize, George W. Bush, once again offering up to a million dollars for definitive dirt. He sent investigative reporters to the heart of Texas, first in 1999. They would look into an allegation that in 1971, George Bush, then about 25 years old, got a girlfriend pregnant and paid for her illegal abortion. Flynt got tantalizingly close to documenting such an episode, but never confirmed enough to justify a press conference.

Roy Moore Blasts Sodomites
“If I have anything to do with it,
it will remain against the law.”
Freedom of Speech
Judge Roy Moore has criticized a play opening this Friday in Birmingham. The play, entitled “Judge Roy Moore Is Coming To Dinner," is set in Birmingham and deals with the issue of two men who get married and then return to the state. The fictional representation of Moore uses actual words the former chief justice used in a ruling he made in 2002. “This sort of ‘theater’ promoting homosexual marriage is a result of federal activism in our court system,” said Moore. “Homosexual marriage represents a degradation of our morality and a denigration of our society. In Alabama, it is against the law, and if I have anything to do with it, it will remain against the law.”

President Bush said Tuesday he was leery of casting himself as "

Roy Moore is weighing in on yesterday's Supreme Court ruling rejecting a California atheist's challenge to the Pledge of Allegiance. Moore said the original ruling in the case by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals illustrates the need for Congress to pass a measure curbing the power of federal courts to interfere in the public acknowledgment of God. The Supreme Court temporarily preserved the phrase "one nation, under God," in the Pledge of Allegiance, ruling that a California atheist could not challenge the patriotic oath while sidestepping the broader question of separation of church and state. The decision leaves untouched the practice in which millions of schoolchildren around the country begin the day by reciting the pledge. The court said the atheist could not sue to ban the pledge from his daughter's school and others because he did not have legal authority to speak for her.

Nichols Spared Death Penalty
Pro-Life News
Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols was again spared the death penalty Friday when jurors who convicted him of 161 murder counts deadlocked over his sentence, denying state prosecutors the execution that was the main reason for bringing the case. The hung jury denies prosecutors the death sentence they first demanded nearly a decade ago while the bodies were still being pulled from the twisted ruins of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

O'Connor, Kennedy Betrayed Reagan
Politics
President Reagan appointed to the Supreme Court Sandra Day O’Connor, William H Rehnquist, Antonin Scalia, and Anthony M. Kennedy. Reagan’s four appointees were presumed to be "on his side" when it came to significant items. They were going to comprise "the conservative wing " of the Court. However, such did not eventuate. Both Kennedy and O’Connor have voted in favor of gay rights. They have also championed the "central holding of Roe v. Wade."

Abortionist's Plea Accepted
Pro-Life News
The owner of an Ocala abortion clinic moved a step closer to resolving a four-year-old criminal case against him Tuesday. Dr. James Scott Pendergraft IV pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of accessory after the fact to making a false statement. U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary R. Jones accepted Pendergraft's plea, the result of a plea agreement between Pendergraft and Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Devereaux. If U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan accepts Jones' recommendation to approve the plea deal, Pendergraft could face a maximum sentence of 2.5 years in federal prison and/or a fine of up to $125,000. But as part of the plea deal, the U.S. Attorney's Office agreed to recommend a sentence at the low end of the sentencing guidelines, but Corrigan isn't bound by that recommendation.

Bush's Morning-After-Pill
FDA likely to approve Plan B pill over the counter
The Bush administration is likely to reverse its recent decision on a controversial emergency contraceptive and make it available over the counter this year, a key House Republican said. After meeting last week with Steven Galson, acting director of the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Rep. James Greenwood (R-Pa.) said he is very confident the agency will make the contraceptive Plan B available over the counter in 2004.

MAKING ABORTION ILLEGAL
Presidential Candidate Promises
To Make Abortion Illegal
Constitution Party presidential candidate Michael A. Peroutka is making an extraordinary campaign promise: He vows to make abortion illegal on his "first day in office." To make abortion illegal "immediately," he said, the president would simply have to declare the personhood of the unborn from the moment of conception. The executive branch, which holds the law-enforcement function of government, could then enforce that personhood through the U.S. attorneys, he says. Claiming President Bush has failed to do enough for the unborn, Peroutka declared: "On abortion, a president – particularly a Christian president – should use his bully pulpit to change public and congressional opinion. And as president, I would do this."

Abortionist Gets Plea Bargain
Bush's federal prosecutors let lying
baby murdering scum off the hook
OCALA -- Nearly four years after his arrest, Dr. James Scott Pendergraft IV is about to accept a plea deal likely to close

the federal government's conspiracy case against him. According to documents filed in federal court Friday, Pendergraft and federal prosecutors have reached a plea agreement that will allow the operator of the Ocala Women's Center to plead guilty to one count of "making a material false statement" that "knowingly and willfully assist(ed) . . . Michael Spielvogel, in order to hinder and prevent (Spielvogel's ) trial and punishment." Under the terms of the proposed agreement, Pendergraft could face a possible maximum prison term of 2.5 years, a possible fine of $125,000 and three years of supervised release. [But] the proposed agreement notes that [Bush's] federal prosecutors will recommend a sentence at the low end of federal guidelines.
Editor's note: "Only an ignorant or stupid people believe a civil government that promotes and maintains the murder of their unborn children can simultaneously retain a legitimate right to uphold the law! To keep compliance with its genocidal policies, such a civil government's Judaical system must degenerate to allow murderers to go scot-free so they can keep on killing. The greater threat then, is not the criminals who are set free, but the criminals who set them free!" --Jim Rudd
Flashback
Federal Judge Tosses Evidence For New Trial of Pendergraft
Evidence from first trial not allowed
By Rick Cundiff / Ocala Star-Banner/ January 29, 2003
OCALA - The judge presiding over the upcoming retrial of Dr. James Scott Pendergraft IV has rejected some of the evidence from Pendergraft's first trial. U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan ruled Monday that some audio tapes of conversations that Pendergraft or his business associate Michael Spielvogel had with former Marion County Commissioner Larry Cretul won't be admitted when Pendergraft's retrial begins next week. Corrigan also ruled some correspondence between Cretul and Pendergraft irrelevant to the retrial.

Plead Guilty to Impeding Justice
OCALA -- A doctor who runs [5] abortion clinics will plead guilty to impeding justice to settle a long-running fight with prosecutors who once accused him of extorting Marion County, court documents show. Dr. James Scott Pendergraft IV and federal prosecutors have agreed that the operator of the Ocala Women's Center will plead guilty to one count of impeding justice for supporting a business associate he knew was lying, the records show.
African-American Abortion:
Pro Choice, Infanticide, Or Genocide?
By Brad Lena / Black Electorate
The white population in America is in decline. The question for Black Americans is do they wish to accompany them? If the black abortion rate remains constant, it may be inevitable. The Black population in America, according to the 2000 Census, comprised 12.3% of the population (12.9% if identified as black plus another race.) It is no longer the largest minority having been surpassed by Hispanics in 2000 (5 years sooner than anticipated.) Black American women comprise 13.5% of the female population in the U.S. but have 34% of all the abortions. Black abortion rates are approximately 2.6 times higher than the white. Most of America's abortions take place in urban areas.
Cliff Notes: Abortion Contradiction
In Kansas City this week…another ruling by a different federal judge. In this case, a woman who’s five months pregnant is fighting deportation to Mexico…and this week…federal judge Scott Wright ruled that the woman’s unborn child is a U.S. citizen and therefore, says the judge, is entitled to legal protection under the law.
State at Center of 'Morning-After Pill' Fight
Albany -- Bill would allow pharmacists to dispense emergency contraception without a prescription -- The battle to make emergency contraception readily available to women has shifted from the federal government to New York and other states, where it is marked by confusion, politics and conflicting definitions of pregnancy. Advocates contend the high doses of birth control pills could prevent as many as 1.7 million unintended pregnancies and 800,000 abortions in the United States each year, while opponents say preventing a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus is tantamount to abortion.
Legislators Mull Morning-After Pill
ALBANY -- Legislation that would make emergency contraception more widely available by enabling women to obtain it in pharmacies and from nurses through collaborative agreements with physicians has already been passed by the New York State Assembly. But it will founder if the State Senate does not deal with the bill before the end of session June 21. Much of the difficulty lies in differing definitions of when life begins.[?] Some anti-abortion activists contend that Plan B, by complicating fertilization and implantation, is not contraception but abortion.
The Big Show
California Judge Rules Against
Ban on 'Partial-Birth' Abortion
SAN FRANCISCO -- A federal judge in California has declared unconstitutional a federal law that attempts to ban certain medical procedures that abortion-rights opponents call "partial-birth" abortions. Federal District Judge Phyllis Hamilton of San Francisco, in a decision handed down June 1, ruled the law -- passed last year by Congress and signed into law by President Bush -- was unconstitutionally vague in its definitions of the acts and procedures it prohibits. Hamilton accepted virtually all the arguments put forth by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, which filed suit to block the law. (Read: Partial-Birth Ban of No Effect)
Final Arguments Being Heard In
Controversial Abortion Law Case
LINCOLN – A federal judge heard closing arguments Wednesday in one of three cases at the center of the national fight over so-called partial-birth abortion. U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf is one of three judges around the country who previously blocked implementation of a federal law banning the procedure.

Judge Critical Of Politics In Case
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The judge presiding over a challenge in Lincoln of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act said he will rule by Aug. 31. U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf Wednesday heard closing oral arguments from both sides in the Lincoln case. Trials also have been held in New York and San Francisco. A judge in the California trial already ruled the law signed last year by President Bush is unconstitutional. Lawyers for the government and four abortion doctors made their closing arguments and answered questions from Kopf.

Ratzinger said he would like Vatican officials to meet soon with a U.S. bishops' panel reviewing how church leaders should interact with Catholics in public life.
Law School's Award to Pro-Abort
Judgette Creates Controversy
"Shame on Seton Hall" was a slogan on protesters' signs Friday outside of Seton Hall Law School as the university honored a pro-abortion judge. Those sentiments were echoed in a statement released by the Archbishop of Newark Wednesday. The university has come under fire for awarding Judge Maryanne Trump Barry the Sandra Day O'Connor Medal of Honor, named after the associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. The award honors women who have distinguished themselves in law and public service and is presented by three student groups: the Seton Hall Law Review, the Seton Hall Legislative Bureau and the Seton Hall Women's Law Forum.
New State Law Delays Abortions
'Informed Consent' 24-Hour Wait
A federal appeals court panel decided last week to allow a state law requiring women to wait 24 hours before undergoing an abortion.
The law became effective immediately. As a result, dozens of abortions scheduled across the state were postponed last week, according to various news sources. The Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals dissolved Judge Scott O. Wright’s temporary restraining order, which halted last year’s abortion informed consent law (HB 156) from taking effect. (Read: Christians Murdering Babies)
Abortion Group Fights Ruling
Planned Parenthood opposes wait period
JEFFERSON CITY -- Abortion provider Planned Parenthood has asked a federal appeals court to clear a procedural path for it to again try to stop the enforcement of a new state law requiring a 24-hour wait for abortions. The court filing yesterday came after a decision last week by the Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis to lift a temporary restraining order against the law. The restraining order had been in place since October. Planned Parenthood said that by lifting the restraining order and allowing the law to take effect the appeal is now essentially moot. The group wants the appeals court to send the case back to federal district court, where Planned Parenthood could argue for a preliminary injunction against the law.
Breast Cancer-Abortion Study Flawed
While many abortion advocates are touting a recent study in the Lancet which denies the link between abortion and breast cancer, a leading expert in the field now says that the study has serious flaws. Dr. Joel Brind, president and co-founder of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, charges that the Lancet study incorrectly compares rates of breast cancer among women who have had abortions with women who have never been pregnant.
