Ice, Wintry Mix Spreads Across Interior South

(Covenant News office may experience a power outage through the weekend) A storm with destructive ice, flooding rain and gusty thunderstorms is touring the South and will last through the first half of the weekend. A plethora of moisture riding northward from the Gulf of Mexico is being deposited in the form of freezing rain or a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. People on the northern fringe of the storm from Kansas to Missouri and Kentucky are gladly taking snow over freezing rain. Unfortunately, that is not an option being offered to portions of Arkansas, southern Tennessee, the northernmost areas of Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia and a large part of the Carolinas with this storm.
