Our First Day at Continental Congress 2009

Richard Church / We The People Forum:
The delegates to the CC2009 have just completed our first day of business in St. Charles. It was a short day, with delegates arriving even as the proceedings were under way. While I have not had the opportunity to meet all of my fellow delegates, my first impression that this group is well-equipped for the task before us. Business began with the election of a president. This process took much longer than any of us expected. Some of this was due to a lack of familiarity with parliamentary procedure. Much of the problem was a failure by Mr. Schulz, as acting president, to move the proceedings along in an expeditious manner. Also, some of the voting procedures to be used here at the Congress are quite cumbersome. But these are small details that will be ironed out quickly as we proceed.

Based on the life work of Thomas Jefferson, the Congress is organized into local state and county "ward republics." The Congress works closely with the WTP Foundation to achieve its mission to restore Constitutional Order and reclaim Liberty. (Continental Congress 2009)
