Scott McClellan: 'Bush Sold War by Propaganda'
Chris Ortiz / Chalcedon Blog:You gotta love it! The gentle, soft-spoken, former Press Secretary, Scott McClellan, is revealing way more than this Administration would prefer; and already, Mr. Karl Rove is denouncing McClellan for sounding like a "left-wing blogger." Ah yes, no evidence from Mr. Rove, just good ol' character assassination. McClellan says that the Iraq war was sold to Americans via a "political propaganda campaign manipulating sources of public opinion," and confirms what we all knew: Cheney--who he refers to as the "magic man"--was steering policy from the shadows. McClellan says "the Iraq was not necessary," but that "top Bush aides had outlined a strategy for carefully orchestrating the coming campaign to aggressively sell the war."
