President George Bush opened a visit to China by attending a state controlled Communist church service. The gesture is likely to resonate with his religious sycophants back home, but unlikely to cut much ice with his Red Chinese hosts, who continued their crackdown on underground Christians right up to the eve of the visit. Arrests of Christian leaders were reported up to Saturday.
