Baby Killer Admits to Smothering Newborn
A 26-year-old western New York woman admits she smothered her newborn daughter hours after she gave birth in her apartment last April. Danielle Payne of Lackawanna pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree manslaughter. Under a plea deal, the judge agreed to impose a 5-to-15 year prison term. State Supreme Court Justice Christopher Burns allowed Payne to remain free on $75,000 bond while wearing an electronic monitoring device. Before the plea, Payne was looking at a possible indictment for second-degree murder. Lackawanna police found the remains in a plastic bag in a car trunk nine days after the newborn was suffocated with a sweat shirt.Click Here For The Full Story......
