Activists Protest Bush Visit To Dana Point
DANA POINT -- Peace activists gathered in Dana Point on Thursday evening to protest President George W. Bush's visit to speak and accept an award at a Catholic summit for his anti-abortion efforts. Legatus, a Catholic organization for business and civic leaders, honored Bush at the St. Regis Resort, where registration was $1,475 per person for the event and open only to members and guests. The summit continues through Sunday. The Catholic News Agency has reported that the former president will receive the award from the lay group Legatus for his work in advancing the anti-abortion cause and will address the business group for the first time since leaving office more than a year ago.
