Doctor Convicted of Attempted Abortion

LONDON -- A married British doctor faces sentencing for attempting to spike his girlfriend's drink to induce abortion, court records showed. Dr. Edward Erin, a respiratory specialist at two London hospitals, was found guilty Monday of two charges of attempting to spike his lover's coffee and orange juice but not guilty of spiking her Earl Grey tea, the Sun reported. Bella Prowse, 33, of London, Erin's girlfriend detailed for the court the story of how she became suspicious of drinks Erin handed her after they argued about whether to terminate the pregnancy, the newspaper said.
