Tennessee Lawmakers to Revisit Anti-Abortion Amendment (And then you can kill the baby)

The abortion issue will once again be heard on Tennessee's Capitol Hill and Republican state lawmakers hope 2009 will be the year they can finally approve an amendment. The amendment would not ban abortion in Tennessee but permit the legislature to enact regulations such as informed consent, a waiting period, mandatory hospitalization and parental notification in the case of a minor seeking an abortion. In 2000, the Tennessee Supreme Court struck down a new law that contained such abortion provisions.
