Fairness Doctrine, Hate Crimes Act meant to silence Christians
Pastor Brian Baker / The Springfield News-LeaderOf the many rights we have guaranteed in the Constitution, the rights that are undoubtedly the most important for any believer are the right to assemble, the right to worship and the right to free speech. These rights provide the foundation for the church to share the gospel of Jesus Christ without fear of persecution and government interference. These also give us the opportunity to get involved in mission work that can positively influence the communities we each respectively live in. In the last few years, though, I have witnessed a movement on the left in this country to deprive believers of these rights through legislation such as the Fairness Doctrine or the Hate Crimes Act. The goal of this legislation is to quiet the views of those that are Christian or conservative.
