Everett Gentry Gets Life In Prison For Pregnant Teenager's Murder

He helped his best friend kill a pregnant Wichita teenager and then became the case's main witness against his co-defendants. Everett Gentry became the second of three men sentenced to life in prison for the death of 14-year-old Chelsea Brooks, who was nine months pregnant when she disappeared in June 2006. This morning, Gentry told Brooks' family he was sorry for his role in the girl's death. Brooks was pregnant with Elgin Robinson's unborn child, and Robinson, 20 at the time, wanted her killed to avoid rape charges. Robinson was convicted of capital murder last month for having Gentry find someone to strangle the girl.
