Man Gets 4 Years For Throwing Infant Against Wall

SILVERTON, OH -- A Silverton man was sent to prison for four years after he admitted he threw his 9-month-old son against a wall in April, fracturing the baby’s skull in two places. Travis Townsend, 21, pleaded guilty July 23 to child endangering as part of a plea bargain. The baby’s mother, who was 14 at the time of the incident but now is 15, was shopping at the time. Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Ralph "Ted" Winkler could have sentenced Townsend to prison for a maximum of eight years.
