Abortion Protesters Rock Dems Interfaith Prayer Meet

Abortion protesters rocked the first few minutes of the Democrat National Convention's first- ever interfaith prayer gathering Sunday afternoon, but the party faithful rebounded to touch on topics from warfare to forgiveness. With gospel singers' swelling voices in the background, three unidentified men screamed accusations against the presumptive Democratic nominee, Barack Obama: "Obama supports the murder of children." A second man shouted: "Obama is a baby killer."

14TH AND CALIFORNIA STREETS -- Randall Terry, the anti-abortion activist who disrupted this afternoon's Democrat Convention Interfaith Gathering, continued his protests, confronting attendees with a grisly picture of an aborted fetus as they exited the Colorado Convention Center. "When Obama was a fetus, was he still Obama?" Terry yelled through a megaphone to passers-by. Terry was one of three men evicted from the gathering for yelling anti-abortion and anti-Barack Obama messages during the opening minutes of the event. He is the founder and president of Operation: Rescue, a Washington-based anti-abortion group.

Protesters Disrupt Interfaith Gathering
COLORADO CONVENTION CENTER -- Three anti-abortion protesters have been removed in the opening moments of the DNC's interfaith gathering after shouting that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama "is a baby killer." The men were shouted down and booed by the several hundred in attendance, who chanted "O-BA-MA" in response." "There are people in that room that still have a conscience," said Randall Terry, founder and president of the Washington-based anti-abortion group Operation: Rescue, explaining why after the first song of the gathering he stood and shouted, "Obama supports the killing of children by abortion."
