WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- Republican presidential candidate John McCain said he would appoint judges in the mould of John Roberts, Samuel Alito and former Chief Justice William Rehnquist if he were elected in November. In an excerpt from a speech McCain was to give in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, the Arizona senator said he would "look for accomplished men and women with a proven record of excellence in the law, and a proven commitment to judicial restraint."

DENVER -- "American Right To Life is offering attorney James Bopp $10,000 for National RTL," said the group's president Brian Rohrbough, "if he can name a single justice on the current U.S. Supreme Court who has ever acknowledged that the unborn child has a right to life, whether in a majority opinion or a dissent."
