Care Net Applauds Informed Consent 'And Then You Can Kill The Baby' Decision

LANSDOWNE, Va. -- President Melinda Delahoyde applauded the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit decision Friday in Planned Parenthood v. Rounds. The Court vacated a temporary injunction which had been issued by the lower court in regards to a 2005 South Dakota informed consent law on abortion. In the interest of women's health, two of Care Net's South Dakota pregnancy center affiliates joined the case. The law requires women to be informed before an abortion that the procedure "will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being," and given the contact information of a local pregnancy center, as well other information about her health risks and pregnancy support available.
