Body of Dead Baby Found in Restroom at Las Vegas Casino
The Associated Press
LAS VEGAS -- Police say an autopsy should show whether a baby was alive before its body was found dead in the trash at a women's restroom at a Las Vegas Strip casino. Las Vegas police Lt. Lewis Roberts says investigators are trying to figure out who would abandon a newborn child, alive or dead, on Mother's Day. The body of the baby boy was found about 9:40 p.m. Sunday, wrapped in a hotel gift bag and a pillow case in a restroom near a bank of elevators at the Excalibur hotel-casino.

Newborn Found In Vegas Trash
A sad mystery is coming to light on the Las Vegas Strip. The body of a newborn was found in the garbage at the Excalibur hotel on Sunday night. Police are hoping surveillance video will lead to the mother. It's an investigation that could take several weeks to piece together: whether the baby boy found at the Excalibur hotel on Mother's Day was murdered or miscarried. The umbilical cord and a portion of the placenta were still present. Officers are now combing through hotel surveillance video to see if anyone can be seen walking in the bathroom with a bundle in her arms.
