Kansas Lawmakers May Try Again to Enact a Late-Term Abortion Bill
TOPEKA -- Prolife legislators may try again today to enact a late-term abortion bill known as C.A.R.A._ the Comprehensive Abortion Reform Act. The original bill was vetoed April 21 by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. The Senate tried to overrride the veto earlier this week but came up short of the necessary two-thirds vote. This could be the last day of the session but that isn't stopping some lawmakers from trying to craft a new bill that might get the votes to override a veto.
