Kentucky Pre-Abortion-Ultrasound Bill Stuck in House

FRANKFORT -- Sen. Jack Westwood says an abortion-related bill he has sponsored has the Kentucky House tied in knots. House Democrats don’t want to call the bill – Senate Bill 40 – because they know it would pass, Westwood said Wednesday. "It's driving the way the House operates now," said Westwood, a Crescent Springs Republican in his third term. Under the bill doctors performing abortions would be required to first perform an ultrasound and allow the woman to see the images.
