Photos Unfit in Public Setting?

Taken from Wikipedia regarding the movie picture rating system: "strong violence, scariness, and/or gore" is sufficient to warrant an "R" rating. If this type of content is deemed not appropriate for young eyes in a movie setting, why is it (apparently) legal to use scary, gory images to convey political ideas when in a public venue? My wife, four children ranging from 13 to 5 years old and I recently attended a large public meeting in North Salem. The meeting was not abortion-related. Outside were pro-life demonstrators with large, graphic pictures of mutilated fetuses. Although I have some empathy for their cause, I feel it is an atrocity to have these types of images shown in a public setting. Read more...
