Toilet Mom Charged With Reckless Endangerment

A 27-year-old woman has been charged after police said she gave birth in the toilet of a Bethlehem house and refused to remove the baby boy after being prompted by a 911 operator. Melissa Regalis of 3219 Apple Church Road, Lower Saucon Township, was charged today with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Police said Regalis gave birth on Aug. 30 to the boy at the home of Andrew Calmar, the father of the child. Calmar found the full-term baby sitting in an upright position in the toilet bowl, submerged up to his nipples, police said. Read more...
