Parents Sue Over Gender of IVF Baby

AUSTRALIA -- A couple who used IVF to avoid having a son have launched legal action after their child was born male. They were attempting to avoid having a child with haemophilia, a blood disorder that effects only males. Their son Jess was born with severe haemophilia. He will need lifetime care and is susceptible to severe bleeding and spontaneous internal haemorrhaging. The couple would have considered abortion had they been made aware of the gender of the baby.
