'Tiller the Killer' Charged With 19 Counts

Attorney General Paul Morrison says he is filing 19 misdemeanor charges against Wichita abortionist George Tiller. Morrison's charges follow a six-month investigation into allegations that Tiller performed illegal late-term abortions. Morrison said Tiller did not rely on a financially and legally independent doctor in obtaining a second opinion, which is required under Kansas law for some late-term abortions. Soon after Morrison's announcement, Kansas Speaker of the House Melvin Neufeld said that he is pleased by the Attorney General's decision and that state law was being enforced. Full story...
