Death Penalty Saves Lives: Report
Scientists say between three and 18 lives wouldbe saved by the execution of each convicted killer.

Opponents of the death penalty have made major gains in the past few years, with the dispute over the cruelty of lethal injection and DNA freeing more than 200 convicts, but getting very little attention in the debate is the scientific evidence that proves that the death penalty acts as a deterrent to murder. According to a study by AP national writer Robert Tanner, there are several academic studies in the past six years that settle the once hotly debated argument concerning the death penalty as a deterrent.
