Police: Drivers Blame Pro-Lifers

By Dennis J. Wright / The Phoenixville News
PHOENIXVILLE -- A group of abortion protesters are being blamed by two drivers involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Gay Street and Nutt Road Monday afternoon. According to Officer Jose Sousa, a GMC Denali, driven by a Phoenixville male, was traveling east on Nutt Road, just before the Gay Street intersection, around 4:40 p.m. May 21. At the same time, a Plymouth Voyager, driven by a Pottstown female with one child passenger, was traveling behind the Denali, heading east towards the intersection. "Both drivers said that they were distracted by the abortion protesters standing on the corner," said Sousa. "Apparently they were waving signs at passing vehicles." The Voyager rear-ended the Denali just past the intersection, causing both vehicles to come to a stop right across from the rear parking lot of the Gateway Pharmacy. The child passenger was taken to Phoenixville Hospital with minor injuries. The Voyager was towed from the scene by Pejey's Auto Body, Phoenixville. Full story...
